  • The Secret Life of an American Homeschooler

I know, I am super original.

Monday, we ordered a new birth certificate for me because mine is lost. It cost $45!!! WHY?? But we did receive it the next day.

Tuesday, when picking my sister up from her last day of school, I went into my school to talk to my counselor. I needed to see when an updated version of my transcript would be available. I need a copy of it showing the five credits I just got. He started talking about setting up a time at a later date that I could come in and take tests that I have missed. My mother was just there last week talking to him and he never said anything about me having to come in to take tests! He also started talking about an in-home tutor. I looked at him and said, "You do know I live in *insert town that is not even close to the school district here*, right?" He said he forgot, that my mother had mentioned that to him. I asked him if, with the grades I have now without coming in to make up work, would I pass my classes and receive my credit. He looked up my grades for this quarter, and I WILL pass and receive all of my credits. If I remember correctly, I should have 13.25 credits. I only need 20 to graduate and I just finished my sophomore year! So, anyways, I am not going in to make up work. There is no point to it.

Yesterday, my mother called TRECA to start the process of getting me started. We faxed some papers to them including a non-updated transcript.

Today, TRECA called to set up an orientation! It is July 7th from 9:30 to 1 (I think). Three days after my birthday! I am so excited! I pick up my computer at orientation.

This Saturday, I am going to a baby shower for a friend of mine. She is due in just over 12 weeks.I cannot wait until the baby is born!

Sunday, I am going away to stay with someone for a week or two. I plan on going to this wonderful little diner where the waitress is a friend of the person I am staying with. The waitresses husband found out he had cancer a little over a year ago. He is still battling it to this day. At this point, we know that he will be passing away soon. Their 17 year old son did not find out about the cancer until a few months ago. His dad still gets up and drives to go see his soon play baseball though. That is the kind of father I wish I had!! I wish him well every time I see him or his wife, the waitress.

I spent some of today re-measuring the bedroom only to find out I miss-measured before. The main part of the room is actually 13x13'. I have also rearranged furniture and what not. Time to make an after floor plan... I am bored... don't judge me.

All right, I think that is all (finally!) that I have to talk about.

    See ya!
